The Sarnia Sting had trouble solving Michael DiPietro once again on Thursday night.
The Spitfires goaltender stopped 46 of the 47 shots he faced to lift his team to 3-1 win and even the series at two games a piece.
DiPietro has faced a whopping 179 shots in the series so far, roughly 45 shots per game. He's allowed only nine goals in the four games, good enough for a .950 save percentage.
Chris Playfair scored the winner for the Spits, a shorthanded marker 3:59 into the 3rd period. Ryan McGregor had the lone Sting goal, his first of the playoffs.
Sting forward Jordan Ernst says his team may have let one slip away.
"We took a little off in the 3rd. If we would've came with a little better push there I think we would've came out with a different outcome," says Ernst. "I think we just got to keep looking forward and just worry about the next game, have a short memory here and get after it [on Friday].
The two sides return to Sarnia on Friday for Game 5. Puckdrop is set for 7:05.
