The final chapter has been written on the Mandaumin Library.
Lambton County Council approved a recommendation by Plympton-Wyoming council Wednesday morning, to permanently close the Confederation Line branch.
A recent inspection found it would cost $25,000 to repair water damage.
Mayor Lonny Napper says it's unfortunate, but he supports the decision.
"We had to move quickly on it because there's costs involved," says Napper. "So you spent $15,000 to get another report or do you move forward and look at the situation."
He says it will be up to town council now to decide what to do with the quaint building. He says it may be torn down and turned it into green space.
Napper says the building was last remodelled in 1999.
He says the regular use of the branch had declined to about 50 people.
The library's hours will be transferred to the Camlachie and Wyoming branches.
