Two People Helped To Shore By Boaters

The Point Edward fire department is reminding residents that the temperature may be warm, but the water is still extremely cold after two people had to be helped to shore on Lake Huron.

Point Edward Fire and Rescue had only just placed its rescue boat in service on Monday before receiving a call Tuesday afternoon about two people in the water in the area of Christina St.

When rescue crews arrived, the two people had already been helped to shore by recreational boaters.

Lambton EMS checked the two people as a precaution and they were released at the scene.

Fire officials say if you are going on the water, be sure to wear a life jacket and even an exposure suit due to the cold temperature of the water.
