An Ontario man has a whopping bill to pay after an incident late last year at the Blue Water Bridge.
The Canada Border Services Agency says the man was arrested December 5, 2017, for failing to report 43 cases, 258 kg, of water pipe tobacco in a commercial load.
He pleaded guilty to failing to report under the Customs Act, and for possessing unstamped tobacco products under the Excise Act.
His fines total $85,000.
According to the World Health Organization, waterpipe tobacco smoking involves the use of a single or multi-stemmed pipe to smoke flavoured or non-flavoured tobacco.
