The Lambton-Kent District School Board is celebrating "equity in action" as it recognizes Education Week across Ontario.
Events to celebrate diversity include a Black Heritage Symposium, and tour of Uncle Tom's Cabin Historic Site in Dresden.
Board Public Relations Officer Heather Hughes says the goal is to promote inclusion.
"We are taking advantage of this opportunity to highlight the importance of equity initiatives," says Hughes. "We want to celebrate the diverse histories and perspectives that are in our classrooms and supporting our students and staff everyday."
Students will also be doing things like taking part in scavenger hunts, a book fair, a poetry slam, and outdoor education.
A full list of Education Week activities can be found on the board's website.
