New child care spaces will be constructed at a Sarnia daycare on Oak Ave.
Lambton County will receive $1.49-million in provincial funding for 49 child care spaces at London Bridge Child Care Service's Early Childhood Learning Centre.
Co-Executive Director Angela Woodburn says the project is much-needed especially for that area.
"The addition of the spaces will increase access to early care and education for toddlers, which is 18 months to 2.5 years old, and for preschool, 2.5 to 4 years old," she says. "It's a space that's currently built and we're putting an addition on."
The new child care spaces are expected to open in late 2020 and will bring the total number of spaces to 142 among the 14 child care centres operated by London Bridges.
The funding is provided through the Ministry of Education's Community-Based Early Years and Child Care Program.
