Three local sisters are doing their part to help feed teens in need during the summer months.
St. Patrick's High School student Paige Vrolyk, and sisters Abby and Sydney have launched a Snacks for Summer program.
Paige says the goal is to raise $5,000 to purchase and prepare snack packs to be distributed to local youth through the St. Vincent de Paul food bank.
"It's going to go after July 1 all the way through the ten weeks of summer and we will provide these kids with snacks."
The Sarnia Police Association recently donated $500 towards the effort.
Sarnia Police Inspector Norm Hansen says it's awesome to see local teens making a difference in the community.
"What we're doing is catching kids doing something good which is better than catching them doing something bad," says Hansen. "I just think it's a fantastic program these young ladies have decided to do and we're fully behind it."
Donations can be dropped off at Redeemer Christian Reformed Church or Sarnia Police Headquarters.
