Men Arrested In Copper Wire Theft

Two Sarnia men were arrested early Saturday morning as part of an ongoing investigation into the theft of copper wire from an industrial business on Christina St. S.

Around 1am, a member of the Sarnia police COPPS unit allegedly saw a man running from the building but was unable to track him.

Constable John Sottosanti says they noticed more activity at the site at 3:30am.

Two males were located in the building, in the process of stripping copper wire from the building. The males were arrested and taken into custody."

Sottosanti says officers found a number of tools used to strip wiring and noticed several hundred pounds of wiring had already been stripped.
