The United Way of Sarnia-Lambton has set a campaign goal of $2-million for this year.
The 2018 fundraising target was announced at the Sarnia Sting's annual Black and White game at Progressive Auto Sales Arena Wednesday night.
They were able to raise about $4,400 at the game.
Spokesperson Rebecca Brander says the goal matches what was achieved last year.
"The annual giving campaign goal in 2017 was $2-million, and that's what our board of directors felt was a good benchmark for the 2018 goal as well," says Brander.
Vicky Ducharme will head the campaign once again.
"This is the second year that our campaign chair Vicky Ducharme will be leading the campaign," she says. "She has told us that she's very excited to get back involved and she's been able to witness first-hand how these donations are impacting our community."
The 62nd annual campaign officially kicks off with the Day of Caring on September 11.
The United Way of Sarnia-Lambton funds 19 agencies, providing 35 programs and services to the community.
