Sting Sign 2018 Draft Pick Theo Hill

The Sarnia Sting have signed 2018 fifth round pick Theo Hill to a Standard Player Agreement and Education Package.

The Hagersville, Ontario native was selected 99th overall out of the Brantford 99ers minor midget AAA program this past April.

The 6’0”, 175 lbs forward registered 32 points (13 goals, 19 assists) in 33 games played with Brantford this past season.

Hill says he's excited for the chance to play in the Ontario Hockey League.

“I am extremely grateful to the Sting for giving me this opportunity, it is a tremendous honour to sign with such a first-class organization," says Hill. "I am very excited for the future and ready to get to work. would also like to thank my family who have helped me get to this point, I would not be here today without their support.”

Sting GM Nick Sinclair says Hill has had a strong camp.

“We are happy to welcome Theo and the Hill family to the Sting organization," says Sinclair. "Theo was an intriguing player that immediately stood out to our scouting staff early in his minor midget season and continued to impress us throughout his year in Brantford. After a stand out rookie camp in April, he followed it up with a very strong performance this week at main camp and has earned this opportunity.”

Hill will make his Sting debut Friday as the team heads to Budweiser Gardens to take on the London Knights for the club's first pre-season contest of the 2018-2019 campaign.
