Sarnia police seized over $6,000 in drugs, and a tactical knife just before 3 a.m. Monday.
Officers on general patrol spotted a man and a woman behind a school on Wellington Street between Brock Street and Vidal Street. They were reportedly behind the open trunk of a vehicle with a bicycle.
When asked why they were there, police said the information provided didn't make any sense. The woman allegedly tried to flee but was taken into custody.
Police said a man had a tactical style knife in his left rear jean pocket, and officers also found various drugs and $2,110 in cash.
Nicholas Ross Plain, 41, is charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
The woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant for breach of probation.
In all, police seized 55 grams of crystal methamphetamine worth $5,500, 4 grams of cocaine worth $500, and 2 grams of Fentanyl worth $800.
Both were being held for bail hearings.
