Trial dates set in hit-and-run case

Trial dates have been set for a Sarnia man charged in a hit-and-run collision that seriously injured a pedestrian in March.

Boady Santavy is charged with failing to remain at the scene after a 29-year-old man walking on Lakeshore Road was struck by a vehicle near Blackwell Side Road March 18 at around 1:30 a.m.

The 21-year-old turned himself in to police the following day and was released on a promise to appear.

After his release, the weightlifter attended the Commonwealth Games in Australia.

Trial dates have been scheduled for March 27, 28, and 29 of next year.

The victim was initially taken to hospital with serious injuries and was released just over a week after the incident to recover at home.
