Zombies invade Lambton Mall

Do you have what it takes to survive a zombie apocalypse? Well survival skills were put to the test Saturday night at Lambton Mall.

Sarnia's Costumes Canada hosted an interactive, role playing event where participants will get the chance to hunt zombies with nerf guns and foam swords, and if captured, become a member of the undead.

Coordinator Steve Brown said he's participated in a similar event in Chatham over the last two years, and this year the walking dead have made their way to Sarnia.

"Everyone had fun being involved in it. People get to act as zombies, but it's more than just them doing a zombie walk where they just walk around and moan. This time they actually get to participate and act out as zombies trying to eat people."

Brown said participants take part in a series of missions against zombies, and that once you're "killed", you become a zombie and continue to participate.

He said as the night goes on, the missions get harder, and in the end, only one team will be crowned the winners.

Participants are given nerf weapons, but Brown said you are able to bring your own. He also encourages attendees to dress up like survivors of an apocalypse.

The licensed event for those 19 and over, from 9:30 p.m. to 1 a.m., cost $20.

Proceeds support Harmony For Youth.
