After two years of planning, a brand new brewery is opening up in Petrolia next year.
Black Gold Brewery will be located in the heart of the town, in the building next to the Farmer's Market on Greenfield Street.
Co-Owner Brent Gauthier said they're going to rotate through 153 styles of beer, with 10 to 15 on tap at any time.
"One of my favourites right now is actually a smoked ale that we have, it's quite good," said Gauthier. "Our signature beer is a black gold porter, and it's a smoked porter. It's an interesting beer to describe because you have to take a few mouthfuls in order to coat your mouth and stop overwhelming your taste buds."
Gauthier said they're currently renovating the building, and are maintaining it's heritage features.
He says they're starting out with on site sales and will be working with restaurants around town to develop a beer style specific to them.
It's hoped Black Gold Brewery will be open by the May long weekend.
