Slim chance of white Christmas in Sarnia-Lambton

Environment Canada says there's a slight chance we'll have a white Christmas in Sarnia-Lambton this year.

It's been raining off and on for the past few days, and the ground is warm as a result.

Meteorologist Marie-Eve Giguere said there's the possibility that a weak system could move through on Sunday into Monday, giving us a thin blanket of snow.

"There's nothing to cause any trouble for transportation if anyone is planning to travel and see family for Christmas," said Giguere. "There will be some light snow pretty much throughout Sunday and leading into Christmas eve and then some quiet weather."

Giguere said over the past 63 years, 59 per cent of Christmases have been white locally.

She expects the weather to be fairly quiet between Christmas and New Years.
