The Ontario government is gathering public input in advance of its spring budget.
It will be the first one presented by Doug Ford's Ontario Progressive Conservative party.
Lambton-Kent-Middlesex MPP and Infrastructure Minister Monte McNaughton said the outgoing Liberals left the province with a $15 billion deficit.
He said it is important to listen to constituents with the hope of balancing the books.
"We're looking for ideas right across the board," said McNaughton. "I've always said that the best ideas come from home and as MPPs, we need to listen to what the people are saying. They have more common-sense ideas sometimes than the politicians at Queen's Park."
McNaughton said they want input that falls in line with the government's five core commitments.
They include putting money in people's pockets, cleaning up the hydro mess, creating and protecting jobs, restoring government accountability, and reducing hospital wait times.
