Lambton's men's basketball team competing in OCAA provincials

The Lambton Lions men's basketball team will be playing in the OCAA provincial championship tournament.

They defeated George Brown College 78-71 on Saturday afternoon in Toronto.

The men, who finished with a 10-10 record on the regular season, will travel to Georgian College in Barrie to begin play on Thursday.

They'll face Niagara in the opening game at 6:00 p.m.

The eight team tournament will conclude Saturday with the champion advancing to the Canadian Championships.

During the season, the men averaged 90 points, 42 rebounds, and 21 assists per game.

Guard Tyvell Peters led the way with 21.9 points per contest while playing an average of 33.3 minutes each night.

Meanwhile, Lambton's women's basketball season came to an end as they fell 72-70 to the Durham Lords at Durham College in Oshawa Saturday evening.
