Bakers are busy at Sarnia's Global Donuts and Deli.
The London Line bakery expects to make over 18,000 paczkis for Shrove Tuesday.
Owner Gus Pantazis said they went through 1,400 dozen last year, and anticipate they'll sell over 1,500 dozen tomorrow and Wednesday.
"We sell out every year," said Pantazis. "We always have it the day after Shrove Tuesday on Wednesday for people that maybe have withdrawals, paczkis withdrawals, we have it one more day for them. On Wednesday, I would say by 6 p.m. or 7 p.m. we run out."
The fruit-filled pastries are available in a variety of flavours including custard, cherry, apple, coconut and key lime.
Pantazis added paczkis to the menu in 1989 and the rest is history.
