The setting of a trial date has been delayed for a Sarnia doctor charged in a sexual assault that allegedly occurred 37 years ago.
Dr. Kunwar Singh's case was adjourned to April 30 in the Ontario Court of Justice Tuesday morning, to allow for further discussions between his legal counsel, Stephen Darroch of Toronto, and the Crown.
The 76-year-old Singh faces one count of indecent assault on a female.
He was arrested and charged in December following an investigation by city police that began last October.
It's alleged the assault occurred at a doctor's office during an assessment in 1982 and involved a 15-year-old who is now 51.
