Suncor is beginning a two-month maintenance turnaround at its Sarnia refinery that will pump about $75 million into the local economy.
The company is hiring skilled contractors, acquiring materials and equipment.
Suncor Senior Advisor of Community Relations Jennifer Johnson said an estimated 750 employees and contractors will be involved in the work.
Johnson said they're committed to completing the maintenance safely while minimizing the impacts on the plant's neighbours, its customers, and the environment.
There may be periods of visible flaring and increased noise.
