A 25-year-old Sarnia man has been arrested after leading police on a foot chase through several backyards on Tuesday afternoon.
Around 1:25 p.m. members of the Sarnia police COPPS Unit allegedly spotted a man in the area of Maxwell Street and Napier Street speaking to an individual he wasn't supposed to be in contact with.
When they tried to place the suspect in handcuffs, he fled the scene and began jumping fences.
An officer managed to catch up with him and, after a brief struggle, placed him under arrest.
The man is charged with resisting a peace officer and failing to comply with recognizance.
He was being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
