UPDATE: Police trying to identify victim of fiery crash

Lambton OPP are still trying to positively identify the person killed in a fiery single-vehicle crash in Plympton-Wyoming Wednesday night.

Police responded to Oil Heritage Road just north of Douglas Line at 9:45 p.m.

They said a northbound vehicle missed a curve, entered the ditch and then struck trees in a wooded area.

Constable Chris Doupe said the deceased person and the vehicle have been taken to the Centre of Forensic Sciences for examination.

He said they continue to investigate leads that will eventually determine the identity of the victim, and the name will be released after next of kin have been notified.

Roads in the area were reopened at about 4:30 a.m.
