Environment Canada says April was one of the wettest we've seen in Sarnia, with the most precipitation since 2013.
The weather agency says 112 millimetres of rain fell on the city, the most since 160 millimetres soaked the city six years ago.
Meteorologist Marie Eve Giguere said in the last 15 days of the month, there were only three where it didn't rain.
"That's quite representative of the weather pattern that was very unsettled," said Giguere. "We had one rain system after the other, very often with less than 24 hours of a break in between the systems. That's what gave us the dramatic conclusion to the month with flood warnings."
Giguere said the normal rainfall amount for April is around 70 millimetres.
After a warm and sunny weekend, Giguere expects an unsettled weather pattern to bring more rain into the area on Tuesday or Wednesday.
