Salmon Derby opening day results

Following the first day of the Bluewater Anglers Salmon Derby Bob Daly from Sarnia leads with a 12.07 pound salmon.

Gary Baptie of Windsor caught a 2.63 pound boat trout while Petrolia's Eric Kuchita lured a 11.44 pound lake trout.

Terry Frayne from Forest snagged a 4.68 pound Walleye.

Cold north winds kept most boaters off Lake Huron Friday.

47 fish were entered at the Sarnia weigh station and 31 and the weigh station in Port Franks.

The Daily Big Fish winner is Bob Daly of Sarnia with a 12.07 lb. Salmon.

The Daily Draw Prize winners are

- Tyler Frayne of Forest at the Port Franks weigh station, and

- Mike Hanki of Wyoming at the Sarnia weigh station.

Saturday is Ladies Day. The women anglers will be competing for a $250 cash prize, donated by "Jacobs", for the largest fish entered by a women 16 years of age or older.
