A committee is working in Plympton-Wyoming to zero in on which areas of the community need high-speed Internet improvements.
Chief Administrative Officer Carolyn Tripp said it includes representatives from the town, community and Southwestern Integrated Fibre Technology (SWIFT).
"Obviously we'll be focusing on areas that are underserviced right now, where the connectivity isn't great," said Tripp. "So it's not all of Plympton-Wyoming in that condition, it's certainly more areas primarily along Lake Huron that's probably the most impacted by the limited service."
The federal Liberals want to have high-speed internet delivered to every Canadian home and business by 2030.
They're proposing a new, coordinated plan that would deliver $5 billion to $6 billion in investments in rural broadband over the next 10 years in this year's budget.
