Education Minister to attend ribbon cutting in Sarnia

Ontario's Education Minister is scheduled to visit Sarnia Saturday for the opening of the newly renovated YMCA Child Care Centre on Oakdale Avenue.

Lisa Thompson will join YMCA staff, and Lambton Warden Bill Weber for a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 a.m.

The Y's vice president of children educational services, Jo-elle Rinker, is looking forward to the grand opening.

"From 10 a.m. to about 10:30 a.m. we have a formal presentation and then from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. we're going to have the centre open for people to tour and look at the facility," said Rinker.

She said they've added 10 infant and 15 toddler spaces to the 16 preschool spaces that were already at the centre.

Rinker said they're still in the process of filling the childcare spots.

Families interested in a spot for their child can connect with centre through OneList Lambton.
