Sarnia police made an arrest Wednesday afternoon after officers found suspected fentanyl in a parked vehicle with a man in the driver's seat.
Police responded to the 1200 block of Exmouth Street at around 4:30 p.m. after a witness reported seeing a man in a vehicle acting erratically.
Police said they found the suspected opioid in the middle console along with other drug paraphernalia.
A 33-year-old man was tested by a drug recognition expert at police headquarters and charged with being impaired by drugs and possession of a controlled substance.
Sarnia police would like to remind the public to contact them if they suspect someone behind the wheel of a vehicle is under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
