An information session on the Sixties Scoop Class Action Settlement is being held in Point Edward on Tuesday.
The lawsuit involves a practice that saw Indigenous children taken from their families and placed in the care of non-Indigenous foster or adoptive parents between January 1, 1951 and December 31, 1991.
It claims the action robbed the children of their cultural identity.
Eligible class members could receive between $25,000 and $50,000 in compensation
The information session Tuesday is from 10:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Hampton Inn on Venetian Boulevard.
