Lambton OPP say a driver suspected of being impaired, ran from police early Thursday morning in Point Edward. Police say a vehicle was stopped at about 3:30 a.m. on Venetian Boulevard and when a roadside breath test was demanded, the driver fled on foot. The West Region OPP Canine Unit and OPP Emergency Response Team were deployed along with help from city police. The driver was found a short distance away by the canine unit. A 21-year-old woman from Wyoming is charged with impaired driving, and escaping lawful custody and is to appear in Sarnia court at a later date.
