Video surveillance released in variety store hold up

Sarnia police have released video surveillance hoping the public can help identify the suspect of an armed robbery at a convenience store Monday.

A male, brandishing a large knife, entered the Circle K convenience store at the corner of Exmouth and Capel Streets around 5 a.m.

The suspect demanded money from the clerk and is believed to have fled the scene on foot with a small amount of cash.

Sarnia police and the OPP canine unit searched the area, but were unsuccessful in locating the suspect.

The suspect is described as being five foot five inches, wearing a black hoodie, coloured shorts and a baseball cap. His face was covered with a black mask.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Jeff Rovers at 519-344-8861 ext. 6159 or Sarnia-Lambton Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
