Local small business owners and entrepreneurs are getting a boost.
The Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership is offering six grants of up to $5,000 each to grow a business or start up a new one.
CEO Stephen Thompson said the Starter Company Plus program also offers coaching, mentorship, and community support.
"Mentoring is in addition to the one-on-one consultations that are available at no charge to entrepreneurs and small businesses, whether they enter the program or not," said Thompson. "It's also in addition to the free workshops and seminars that we offer throughout the year. We're currently working to recruit those business leaders and potential mentors as well as small businesses and entrepreneurs who could benefit."
The program is funded through the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation, and Trade.
To be eligible applicants must be over 18, not currently enrolled in post-secondary school, and have at least 25 per cent of the requested grant amount in equity.
