Aamjiwnaang remembers

Aamjiwnaang First Nation held its annual Remembrance Day service at the 11th hour Friday morning.

The ceremony is always held prior to Sarnia's service on the 11th to allow residents to attend the remembrance at the Cenotaph near the Sarnia Public Library.

The Indigenous community lost its last Second World War veteran, 94-year-old Stanley Jackson, in 2015.

Local dignitaries were joined by members of the Sarnia Police Service and the Sarnia Fire and Rescue Service for the ceremony.
