A security firm has come forward to help the Celebration of Lights deal with vandals.
There's been damage to displays, cut power cords and thefts recently at Centennial Park.
Event organizer Cathie Blake said Barry Bentley of Hughes Intelligence Canada has offered to have the park patrolled at night at no cost.
She said his amazing offer is very much appreciated but it's unfortunate it's necessary.
"They really stepped up to the plate and this is something that we could not afford without some help from somebody. This is an amazing offer and we're so very thankful and I'm sure a lot of people in the community are thankful as well," said Blake. "A lot of people have donated a lot of money and these things are very expensive, and it's sad when you have to go there every day to see what the damages are and get them fixed."
Last week, Blake told Blackburn News that over three days vandals twice cut power cords to the displays in the park.
Anyone with information about the vandalism is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
