Imperial announced Wednesday that a new fractionating tower is being started up and brought on line.
Public and Government Affairs Manager Kristina Zimmer said the community may notice temporary elevated flaring and noise during the process Wednesday and Thursday.
"Safety continues to be our priority during this final phase of the project," Zimmer said in a statement.

The 180-foot tower was fabricated in Sarnia using local labour, and was delivered to Imperial in October.
It's the replacement for a 150-foot tower that collapsed the night of April 2.
It was being prepared for planned maintenance at the time and did not contain petroleum products. Luckily no one was hurt.
