Drivers charged with racing, dangerous driving in Lambton

Lambton OPP charged a pair of drivers Thursday, the first, for driving dangerously in a school zone, and the second, for racing.

Around 3:30 p.m., police responded to a report of an erratic driver on Gill Road in Grand Bend.

Police say the driver of a truck, a 34-year-old Grand Bend man, was arrested and charged with dangerous operation for driving dangerously within a school zone. The accused is scheduled to appear in Sarnia court at a later date.

OPP continue to investigate the incident and ask any witnesses to call 1-888-310-1122.

At around 11 p.m. Thursday, Lambton OPP nabbed a driver going over 60 kilometres per hour over the speed limit on Highway 40 in St. Clair Township.

A 21-year-old driver from Sarnia is charged with racing a motor vehicle.

The driver’s licence was suspended for seven days and the vehicle towed and impounded for seven days.
