Sarnia dog owners can now obtain or renew their pet licences online.
The City of Sarnia, in partnership with the Sarnia Humane Society, has launched a new pet licensing program, powered by DocuPet.
Customer Service Manager Andrea Lane said there are now plenty of ways to purchase a new dog tag.
"They can renew at Sarnia.DocuPet.com, they can renew over the phone at 1-855-249-1370, licensing is also available at Sarnia City Hall, at the Sarnia Humane Society or by mail."
Lane said the new program also offers dog owners lost pet services.
"Every DocuPet tag comes with a unique code and it's tied to the free HomeSafe lost pet service. If a pet becomes lost, then you can send a lost pet alert to local pet owners using the code, and there is also a 24/7 hotline, and the goal is to reunite pet owners with their pets."
Licence renewal notices were mailed out the week of January 6 and pet owners will receive an access code for easy online renewal if they choose.
Owners renewing a licence should keep their 2019 tag on their pets until their new tag arrives in the mail.
DocuPet tags can be used for multiple years until needing replacement. Licences will need to be renewed every 365 days.
