Sarnia's Michael Marinaro and partner Kirsten Moore-Towers are off to a blazing start at this year's ISU Four Continents Championships in Seoul, South Korea.
The Canadian duo placed first in Thursday morning's pairs' short program with a score of 76.36, a new personal best score.
Marinaro and Moore-Towers edged 10 other teams at the event, including the reigning world champions from China, Wenjing Sui and Cong Han. At last year's competition in Anaheim, Marinaro and Moore-Towers, who led after the short program, came up 0.06 points short of claiming the top spot.
The pairs' free skating gets underway Saturday at around 4 a.m. ET -- the competition wraps up late Sunday night.
