Driver charged in chain reaction 402 crash

Lambton OPP have charged one of the drivers involved in a chain reaction rear-end crash on Highway 402 earlier this week.

Police, Sarnia Fire & Rescue, and Lambton EMS responded to the westbound 402 at Modeland Road at about 1:45 p.m. March 3.

Police said three vehicles were stopped waiting to cross the Blue Water Bridge when a fourth vehicle hit the last one in line, causing multiple vehicles to collide.

One driver, trapped inside one of the vehicles, had to be extricated by firefighters and transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

A 44-year-old from Kitchener is charged with careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act.
