A portion of Lasalle Line will be closed for five days beginning at 7 a.m. Monday April 27.
The road will be shut down until Saturday from the CN Tracks to Virgil Avenue as Enbridge continues work to replace a section of its aging Line 5 pipeline.
Enbridge will be stringing the new section of pipe, about 858 metres long, to the U.S. side of the St. Clair River.
The company said after the "pull-back" is compete, a second hydrostatic test will be done with the pipe in place to confirm its integrity.
Enbridge expects the new Line 5 St. Clair River crossing to be operational in July, and site remediation work will happen in July and August.
The project is estimated to cost $20-million.
The 65-year-old line that delivers Canadian crude oil to Michigan and Ontario, crosses the U.S. Canada border at the St. Clair River from Marysville to Sarnia.
It’s a 1,000 kilometre-long line stretching from Sarnia all the way to Superior, Wisconsin.
