The community of Mooretown is taking a phased-in approach for the start of the upcoming hockey campaign.
Rink One at the Moore Sports Complex will reopen on August 31 with strict safety measures in place.
They include physical distancing, COVID screening, the use of masks when not on the ice, no spectators, limited dressing room access, and not allowing showers. Those taking part in on-ice activities must be dressed before coming to the rink.
Beginning October 13, there will be a maximum of 30 participants on the ice, including instructors, and the number of skaters to be limited to a maximum of 24.
Meanwhile, swimming programs won't return to the Moore Sports Complex until phase two of reopening, which is expected October 19.
Rink Two would open in phase three if the demand for rentals increases. The health club won't be operational until Phase 4, and will be by appointment only.
