Friends, community rally in support of cancer-stricken mom

A crowdfunding page has been launched for a single mother with Stage 4 cancer who lost a child to the disease a year ago.

Krista Clark, a Petrolia native who has lived in Sarnia and worked at Marshall Gowland Manor for the past ten years, has terminal squamous cell carcinoma and is being treated in London.

Angela Magliaro said she and other friends created a GoFundMe page for Clark, to raise money for travel and medical expenses, meals and household bills.

"We just want to make sure that she has no stress and she can just really focus on trying to heal and stick around with us for as long as possible, for herself and for her boys," said Magliaro.

Clark has three boys, 8-year-old twins Jett and Jagger and 6-year-old Jack.

Her 10-year-old daughter Jaylyn died last November after a seven year battle with cancer.

The GoFundMe page, launched last week, had raised over $25,000 by Friday.

"On behalf of myself, Brianne (Duffy), Rochelle (Michienzi) and anyone else who is involved with this fundraiser, especially on behalf of Krista, it's overwhelming for all of us how much support has come out of the community and we really just want to say thank you, from the bottom of all of our hearts," said Magliaro.
