There's five weeks left to go in the Sarnia-Lambton United Way campaign.
Executive Director Dave Brown said they're still about $175,000 behind last year's pace.
"As we head into week 10 of the campaign, we're at $855,000, said Brown. "That represents 45 per cent of our $1.9 million needs target."
Brown said they're hoping to get past the pivotal 50 per cent mark this week with help from the Dante Club frozen meal fundraiser and the bottle drive over the weekend.
"We were amazed by how many people were dropping off bottles and cans," he said. "We really do owe On The Dot Delivery and their entire family a gratitude of thanks for putting that together for us. Every bottle is going to help us get closer to that $1.9 million."
The United Way helps fund 18 local agencies providing 36 community programs and services.
