Lambton Public Health reported eight new cases of COVID-19 Saturday morning, bringing the community's caseload above 2,000.
Since March 25, there have been 2,001 confirmed cases of the virus in Sarnia-Lambton, including 46 deaths.
There have been over 1,500 cases reported since December 13, and there have been 21 deaths reported since December 10.
The number of resolved cases is up 16 over the past 24 hours to 1,852, leaving the active case-count at 87.
The number of active outbreaks is at seven, an increase of one from Friday.
In a release Saturday, the health unit announced an outbreak at Twin Lakes Village Retirement Home in Sarnia after one staff member tested positive.
Bluewater Health is reporting three COVID-positive patients in hospital, up one from Friday. The local hospital also reported a COVID-outbreak Friday -- six staff have tested positive.
The community's current weekly case-rate is 60 per 100,000.
On Friday, the province announced that Sarnia-Lambton is going up a level in Ontario’s COVID-19 Response Framework as of Monday, citing a recent rise in cases locally.
