Bluewater Health reported another COVID-19-related death in the community Sunday.
Communications Chief Julia Oosterman said an 83-year-old man died Saturday night, the hospital's 34th death since the pandemic began a year ago. Oosterman said there are five positive patients in hospital, two under the age of 60. Two are in intensive care, one on a ventilator.
Lambton Public Health reported 20 new cases of COVID-19 Sunday and 21 more recoveries.
The total number of confirmed cases climbed to 2,778, with 2,522 considered resolved. Active cases went down one to 208. As of Friday, the health unit had reported 74 cases involving Variants of Concern (VOCs).
Active institutional, school and workplace outbreaks were unchanged at 15.
