A 46-year-old Corunna man is facing charges of assaulting a police officer and public intoxication.
On Friday, April 30 at around 7:10 p.m., Lambton OPP officers spotted a suspicious man at a school yard in Corunna.
They said the man was drunk, and he was arrested.
Police said the man began acting strangely while in his cell and, when officers went to check on him, one of them was allegedly struck and sent to hospital with minor injuries.
The accused was released and will appear in court at a later date.
