Another COVID-related death at Bluewater Health

Bluewater Health is reporting its fifth COVID-related death this week.

The Sarnia hospital has now seen a total of 44 deaths linked to the virus, including two reported on Wednesday and two reported on Monday.

Details on the on the most recent patient death, including age, gender and where the person was from, were not immediately available.  The hospital recently began accepting COVID patients from other areas of the province.

Bluewater Health has a total of 15 COVID-positive patients, down four from Friday.

Sarnia-Lambton’s health unit is reporting 16 new COVID-19 cases and 12 more recoveries.

Lambton Public Health’s update Saturday morning brought the total caseload to 3,393, including 3,244 recovered cases. The COVID-related death-toll of 56 is unchanged since April 24.

There are 93 active cases, up four over the past 24 hours. There are four active outbreaks, unchanged from Friday.
