COVID incidence rate up in Sarnia-Lambton

Sarnia-Lambton's COVID-19 incidence rate has inched higher.

Lambton Public Health said the rate of infection per 100,000 population was 57 for the week of May 9 to the 15, up from 53 the week before. The positivity rate increased for the second week in a row, up to 2.2 per cent from 2.0 per cent.

The health unit reported 16 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 Wednesday, for a total of 3,427 since March 2020. Cases deemed resolved went up by 18 to 3,298, lowering the active caseload by two to 71.

There are four workplace and institutional outbreaks, unchanged in the last 24 hours.

Bluewater Health had 11 COVID-positive patients in hospital, down one from Tuesday.
