COVID cases up nine in SL

Lambton Public Health reported another single-digit increase in new COVID-19 cases Friday morning.

The health unit added nine new cases to its figures, bringing the total caseload to 3,512, including 61 deaths.

Since May 23, 61 new cases have been reported in Sarnia-Lambton.  During that period, new daily infections have been in the double-digits just once.

Five more resolved cases were added over the past 24 hours, now up to 3,416 since March 2020.

The number of active cases is at 35, and active outbreaks remain at 0.

Bluewater Health has three COVID-positive patients in hospital, unchanged from Thursday.

On Friday, Lambton Public Health also announced that vaccine eligibility for second dose appointments has expanded to those 75 years of age and older.
