Beach outing results in open liquor charges

A 26-year-old Windsor man accused of having open liquor at Grand Bend Beach is facing a handful of charges after he allegedly lied to police and made a run for it.

Lambton OPP conducted foot patrol on Sunday and stopped a man around 7:45 p.m.

He allegedly gave police a fake name and then ran for it. He was arrested following a short foot chase.

The man faces two charges under the Liquor Licence Act, two charges under the Trespass to Property Act, and obstructing a peace officer.

OPP said he was released from custody, pending a future appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice.
