Bright's Grove family wins over $11K from Sunshine 50/50

A young family from Bright's Grove won over $11,600 from the Sunshine Foundation's first ever 50/50 draw.

Mike Acorn, wife Zoe, and their daughter Leilani were presented with an oversized novelty cheque outside their home Saturday.

The 50/50, launched on May 6, will support the organization's efforts to help children living with severe physical disabilities or life-threatening illnesses.

In a release from the Sunshine Foundation, the non-profit said it has has fulfilled more than 8,500 dreams for children and youth across Canada and coordinated 63 Sunshine DreamLifts since 1987.
